THOUGHTS ON MICROSOFT ENDING SUPPORT FOR WINDOWS 10

I had Windows (dual booting with Mont) as I needed Windows for my Computer Science degree (Mature student graduating in 2013), and kept dual booting for another couple of years, until I realized I hadn't used Windows for a few months. Microsoft free since 2015. I'm currently on Debian 12 and will upgrade to 13 at some point.

I'm 70 years old and started out with Window ME. (what a POS it was).

Best one IMO was XP Pro.

Win 11 sux IMO.

I am too old to learn Linux or anything else.

ymmv

Yeah I could crash course windows 11, but I know it is pretty much a sucky thing of not having the windows menu not hanging upside down like on my machine.

My main gripe is they made everything hard to do, what used to be a one clik chore is now 2 or 3 cliks, and that is if you can find where it is !

Besides they have made the security updates auto install, does not matter if you do not want them, and once installed they can not be rolled back ! ! !

And then there are the small quirks like the single click opening for things, (I do not like that, it has been double clik as long as I can remember), the default look that seems to keep coming back for things even though you change/customize them, etc.

My biggest gripe is after an update it screws my Ethernet drivers up and I have to do a song and a dance to use the internet again ....

Oh and not to mention my Canon PCS makes the security scream because it is not able to play nice with M/softs security, and the only way to stop the naggin, is to buy a "compatible" printer ....

Way to go Gates, I said I was too old to learn Linux, but I learned how to use your garbage didn't I ?

Never say never !
