I'm thinking of finally jumping ship on Samsung and iphone ; is the Asus Rog 8 worthwhile? I heard its simcard, sdcard ready and rootable ? Are these even available?
 
Thank you @Fox Mulder for that info and link reference. You are right , looks like the window has closed on rooting capabilities on most phones. the only reason i wanted to do so is to stop unwanted apps like galaxy store , bixby , etc from auto-installing on my phone
 
WIth Shizuku and Canta you can uninstall just about anything including unwanted bloat and system apps. ADB as well but that's a little more work.

Other reasons for root are pretty much non-issues these days and it's not an option on most devices. I have a Pixel so I could if I wanted but nope.
I rooted all my Androids from my first (Optimus M) up through the S5 but not since.
 
I'll take a look at the Shizuku and Canta, thanks for the suggestion @Fox Mulder . This is exactly my reason for rooting these days, just to stop unwanted apps from updating and deleting the few altogether.

I am still having a little mind boggling over the new terms of Shizuku and Canta milldana... you youngersters and xboxes...
