Site has been really slow my way for the past week.

This is what I see on my side (not good) :

Too bad because sometimes it's great and some other times it's non-functional. It's becoming more clear that less profitable websites are a sacrifice... the decision has nothing to do with sentimental attachment. That's a shame, since so many of us have been here more than 15 years but are being treated as disposable.

Is there any possibility that, if Rob has abandoned the site as non-profitable, some of us legacy members could pool together and buy it? To help with ongoing expenses, we could introduce non-intrusive ads that can be disabled with a modest annual VIP membership again.

Maybe even restore it to AF! Reintroducing Guides for various devices might help bring viewership back.

Or has Android truly evolved to the point that it's so much like iOS that no one really needs any help with it? Has this site outlived it's mission?

Well the need for tinkering under the hood is greatly reduced, both due to no longer being necessary (no more inadequate storage, more user control built in etc) and not being possible or advisable (locked bootloaders, stuff that breaks when root is possible).

People do sometimes look for help with their devices but mostly operational stuff more than mods.

Interesting ideas though, the site may still be worth saving.

I'm glad we're back on, again.

As for tinkering around, im finding things nestled in the Internet, that I find myself trying out, fairly frequently.
+1 for going back to AF.

Running/maintaining a website is not that complicated.

What it does take is daily monitoring and full communication with staff !

Alas it appears this place, has neither.

I have almost reached my limit, I Admin 4 sites, asked to be removed as a SM from another, and mod a few others, and participate in 6 others. To me this means checking them everyday !

I have server space, to open my own site, but have not, for the fact, I do not have the time to dedicate to it.

'Sides, it is more fun to watch, than be in charge !

If one spreads themselves too thin, or lose interest in a duty, then it is time to pass the job along !

JMO as always
