Although many people use Titanium backup, Astro or ES File Explorer to back up apps before a master reset, there is another way.

I know it sounds obvious but I never thought to go there. You can remote install apps right back to...
Yesterday my phone started rebooting every fifteen minutes. Usually while I was on a call. Really annoying. I figured the timing had to be a clue. Since the phone goes into power saver mode after fifteen minutes I figured that was a good place to start looking. I switched the phone into...
Well after hunting for many missing emails in gmail I have come to the conclusion that pressing delete from the gmail app does not move email to the trash or deleted items. It deletes it permanently unlike other mail systems. I guess that is what the archive button is for.
This is a great app from the creator of busybox. Cm7 has this built in and I miss it so finding the app is great.
Basically it allows you to install apps that snoop permissions they really don't need. Then you can take those permissions away from it with this app. Very cool.
Anyone notice that the bionic has a new feature on the shutdown screen called sleep mode that seems to be a cross between airplane mode and power off?htc has something like this they call fastboot where the phone boots in three seconds.
In case you X'ers want to know or have a pesky phone that won't *228. Dial ##7764726 <Send> 000000 <Ok> then first user options Type your MDM and MIN and set the CDMA system to 2
I don't get it. It has a SIM slot and an MDM6600. It has the parts to be a world phone. engadget thinks it has UMTS 2100. The FCC disclosure described it too. Yet here we are with no world capability according to Moto and Vzw. Makes no sense. I gotta find a GSM SIM to stick in and see if it asks...
Anyone have the issue where the lcd backlight stays on after unplugging? The screen is black but illuminated. Good way for the battery to drain. I've only noticed this on 340 froyo.
I was doing some hex editing this morning and I think /system/app/updater.apk (aka blurupdater.apk) is what does the OTA on Froyo. Maybe a better way than removing otacerts.zip which kills the battery. I renamed it to updater.bak to see if it will prevent me from receiving the OTA. I could go to...
Seems the phone an only handle about a 5mbps stream. When I do a speedtest over wifi that's all the phone will do. A laptop on the same connection can do 25mbps. Probably could go faster in N mode but the X falls on its face due to a bad implementation. A wired machine on my connection can do...
It's and android and iphone app for video chat. Kinda like Qik and Facetime except it can cross the android-ios divide.

So here is a video I shot entirely with my Droid X on a 4wheeling vacation. The original footage is better quality than the youtube version but it is quite competent. I usually pull out my five year old Sony HD cam for such events but I decided to give the X a shot. It did pretty well. Color...
No immediate plans to but does anyone know how to? I assume delete superuser.apk su and busybox. Was there an original version of su that got overwritten? The only other dx we have that isn't rooted is a hundred miles away but i could try to fish su out of it and check the attributes on it...
The dialer doesn't let you dial by name.
Exchange Server can/does sync contact sub folders.
Exchange Server doesn't seem to utilize contact pics. Only Facebook
It syncs Exchange calendars unlike vanilla Android.
Unified inbox (if you want)
Facebook is different than Friendstream or the android...
If you have root here is a way to turn the Camera LED on and off for a real flashlight app. No working widget but it is based on the Desire hardware exploit from Damunix which I've adapted for the Incredible. I'm using superuser.apk but I think the unregulated su sticky method should work too...
My Rooted Inc is somewhat stuck in a reboot cycle. Sometimes it boots all the way and then reboots a couple of minutes later. Sometimes reboots at the Verizon intro.
I thought the SD card might possibly corrupted but it does it without a card too.
Tried a different battery and it does it with...
Even if I have a pattern lock the phone displays my voicemail password on the top screen because it is in the speeddial. How lame is that?
When I'm typing on the keyboard and I type something that it doesn't recognize, like a password, it insists on memorizing the word or picking some other...
I've had some settings disappear like losing background live wall paper screen and going back to vzw's.
Also the internal 8gig disappeared once saying it was empty. The same happened to the 2gig sd card. A reboot fixed it but not what I like to see on a new phone.
Anyone else?
