Im Running android 2.2 cyanogen. My phone is running kind of slow and i was wondering, if i went back to 1.6 (or whatever the latest working version is for htc g1) will my phone performance/battery performance improve? Also, will i stll be able to use all the apps in the android market?

I just bought a G1 (rooted running 2.2 froyo) but someone else's gmail is set as the primary email so now i cant log into the marketplace. I googled ways to reset the primary email but id have to do the factory reset. If i do this wont it mean that my 2.2 firmware would go away (i'm new to...
