Connect portable hard drive directly to phone

The internet says it supports OTG and has a type C connector (but you can just look at the phone to verify that). The main issue as already stated would be power, a phone can power a USB flash drive or maybe an SSD but not a spinning drive. You may need to use a powered USB hub to make it work.

You will grow old waiting for that. Go buy some sneakers and you'll feel better.

What's the weather like where you are?

I would definitely not want to trade with you, this is bad enough. At least we can get around normally, and the snow we got the other day was just a nuisance.

Ok you win. But this still sucks.

Deep freeze in NYC, currently 13F feels like 2. Should start to moderate for the end of the week.

    Android 15?

I got the update to 15 almost immediately after getting my Pixel 8 Pro. It came with 14, which was already a significant change from 10 on my old S9. There are some new features, but not all may be available on all devices. I've been using the new battery saver which limits charge to 80% so the...

Help Is it safe to use a device that no longer receives updates?

I used my S9 for over 2 years past its last update, I could still be using it right now but after 6 years I decided it was time for something new so I now have a PIxel 8 Pro. As long as the device runs well and your apps still work you can use it, eventually some apps may no longer be...

    Star Wars Skeleton Crew?

I think "Skeletal Crew" would be a show about dead people, or perhaps some who are really underfed. ;) But "Skeleton Crew" is decent mindless entertainment about a bunch of kids in space. I have never been to a Disney park, I have no interest in such places or amusement parks in general. And...

    Star Wars Skeleton Crew?

Um they're the same thing, Star Wars is now a Disney property. I just got Disney + as one of my Black Friday streaming deals so I have checked this show out, and I find it to be fun entertainment. I'm not a Star Wars junkie so I don't care about the details of how it fits into the SW universe...

    Post Your Last Purchase

I just added the Max deal today to my previous BF streaming purchases. Nothing I desperately need to watch at the moment but at that price it's worth having. Just have to remember to cancel in 6 months as the other deals run for a full year.

    Thanksgiving 2O24

    Send pdf via mail.com

I use the mail.com app, no problem sending attachments unless it's a huge file that gets rejected by the recipient's email server and that has nothing to do with mail.com. The app also appears in the sharing selection so I can tap on it there and it will open a new email with the attachment...

Transferring files from Android phone to PC?

It's ok to be concerned but APK Mirror is a reputable site and they verify the apps before they post them. Read their FAQ- https://www.apkmirror.com/faq/

    How to activate wifi calling

The built-in wifi calling allows you to have service with your regular number over wifi. The E911 address is a requirement so if you call 911 an address comes up- yes you can be anywhere since it's a cell but that's how it works. You register your home address and then forget about it, if you...

    How to activate wifi calling

The above, plus if they do offer it you have to register an E911 address with them before you can use it.

How do I find my older material?

There's a problem with the search, we discussed this the other day in a different thread. Clicking on the "Older Content" button at the bottom of a user's post list brings up nothing. Rob needs to look into this.

    Wifi Issues Again

Wifi would have nothing to do with the phone being paid off or even whether it has an active account. You should still be able to use your wifi even with no SIM installed, just not for Wi-Fi calling.

    Battery life expectancy

Yes because having the hotspot turned on means the wifi radio in the phone is on and that will draw more power even with no devices connected. How much more is hard to say but anytime you have the individual radios enabled (cell, wifi, Bluetooth, NFC) it will increase battery drain to some...
