    ChatGPT anyone try it?

FAIL!! This is NOT Chinese censoring, this is the OpenAI/chatGPS service denying access.

Movies You *Won't* Watch Again ...

I'm ancient. I saw the original London, West End production of Cats in 1981. :) Plus I saw it on tour as well in 2000. That's why when I saw the movie recently, I'm like WTF! is this? They should have either done it in costume and make-up with NO CGI, as per the stage musical, or gone the whole...

Movies You *Won't* Watch Again ...

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, in the cinema. A load of IMAX CGI eye candy, but I had no idea of what was supposed to be going on. Although I think I fell asleep part way through. It was the usual Marvel or DC superhero tripe. When it comes to Marvel/DC superhero nonsense, I did like Aquaman.

I believe Dell calls a majority of their laptops "Latitude", and has done so since 1994, with "Vostro" for their desktop PCs. And it's arbitrary numbers that identifies the particular models. Same same with Lenovo(formerly IBM) calls their laptops "Thinkpad", Samsung with "Galaxy" for phones...

    Total by Verizon BAD?

I think just about all telcos get bad reviews and publicly slated, except maybe Koryolink in North Korea possibly. I still remember the popular "VERIZON SUCKS" memes and other jibes from the '00s..

Quite frankly I've not really taken much of an interest in lower to mid-range Samsung phones, like A series. The only one I ever had was a Galaxy Core Duos, I bought 10 years ago. No idea what they meant by the "Core" name, but the "Duos", meant it was a dual-SIM device.

A commentary on Galaxy S23 bloat

Well when I'm actually using a GPS for navigation, to go somewhere, that's exactly what I want to see. Does a ten year old GPS from 2013, that's NOT online, and doesn't use data show such things? 3D buildings with detail, actual road signs as they appear, bridges, street furniture, trees, etc...

So it sounds like Google Maps can be as useless in the UK, as it is in the PRC.

A commentary on Galaxy S23 bloat

Yeah, Google Maps' UI isn't exactly the best. but on the other hand if I instantly want to see information where I'm going, I don't need fancy skeuomorphisms in a GPS app.

Help FX file Explorer - How to make a file write accessible?

That was the first root type file manager that came up, there maybe others. Of course I don't have a rooted device to test it on myself

A commentary on Galaxy S23 bloat

OT: So you'll be navigating with mapping data that's at least ten years out of date? Wow. Google Maps has mapping data that's over five years ago out of date, and that's a problem for me. So I don't use it. In my local neighbourhood, "JInan Service Area" ceased to exist six years ago...

Flagship Galaxy S series have always been rather obvious as to what's newer or older, e.g. S20, S21, S22, S23.

Need to turn off HEIF in Android 13.

Go into Camera settings > Advanced picture options > Turn High efficiency pictures to OFF The camera will then save pics as JPG, not HEIF.

Are you ready for some Football

I go swimming on Saturday morning at Jinan Olympic Natatorium. Also sometimes do some basketball with our students in the evening. Also tried some Mongolian wrestling when I was in Xilinhot, Inner Mongolia. When I was at school I played cricket and rugby. Neither of which I see much of around...

AF Fantasy Football league 2022....not this year

I did post previously "...doesn't allow registrations when using a VPN". Many American sports things do have geo-restrictions on them, to prevent users from outside of the United States.
