Root [Sprint/Cricket] Rooted Sprint activation question

Hey all, I have a question not about rooting but rather about activating. If someone were to buy a Sprint phone off eBay, Craigslist etc, and it was rooted, would they be able to activate it? The reason I ask is because I Googled it and got really mixed results. One person said they bought a...

    Help Cracked screen fix question

I cracked my S3 screen last week and was quoted between $119 depending on how they judge the severity of the crack. my question: is it worth it to pay the $119+ to fix it? I like the phone and don't have insurance. I looked online and in my area Sprint S3s are going for about $225 used in good...

    Help Twitter notifications default

On the Twitter for Android app I notice that my settings to get notifications keep changing. I have to manually check for followers, mentions, etc. I went in settings and changed it to get alerts 'from anyone' instead of getting notifications only from those who follow me. Why is this always...

Google Play Music always running in the background?

Hey guys, Lately when I go into active applications I notice that Google Play Music is running even though I never open it (and I have never used it to begin with). I know there have been a lot of updates with the Google stuff on here including Music but I just update it for the sake of...

    Help Sprint mobile network settings

On my Sprint S3 I notice if I try to go under mobile networks and choose LTE/CDMA I will not get any signal. It will restart the phone and then there's no 3G signal. I have to keep it on CDMA (which it's on now) and it works fine. What happened? I haven't messed with any of the settings.

    Help Voicemails not popping up

I'm hoping there is some solution to this problem. I have an S3 and it's not running anything but plain stock firmware and it's updated to 4.1.2 on Sprint. For the past few days I have been job searching and getting phone calls back from ads I've applied to. Unfortunately I can't get to all...

Best time to charge your phone?

I know there are a lot of threads about batteries, battery life, etc but I was just wondering what is really the best time to plug in your charger? Some say around 20%, some say 10% etc. I heard it's bad to just let the battery fully die. Anyone have some more accurate info on this? Thank you!

    Battery charge

I know there are tons of threads about battery but I had a particular issue come up. I'm usually satisfied with how long the battery lasts on a daily basis. Today I threw my phone on the charger at 23% and went to my laptop instead. When I returned 20-30 minutes later to check something, I...

To former iPhone users who switched to S3

What was your biggest reason for switching? I used to own a 4 and 4S. For me it was the screen size. Once I picked up a 4.8 inch screen the 3.5 or even 4 inch on the 5 seemed small. I also like that more apps are free. I still think the iphone is a good phone but now I can't see myself going...

Why can the S3 read emojis on Handcent and Twitter?

Just wondering why I am able to see Twitter and Handcent emojis on my S3 whereas before on my older Androids I couldn't. My girlfriend uses Handcent and I can see most emojis and I can also see emojis on Twitter when people try to post them thinking all Android users will see are boxes. Why is that?

    Battery life normal?

Is it usual to have the battery drop to 99 or 98 percent immediately after unplugging it? I don't think I have an app that is taking up my battery. I'm averaging about 10-12 hours of use. Is that about normal? I'm running 3G on Sprint instead of LTE.

Can't delete this particular album. Help?

I don't know how it happened but 3 of my photos ended up in what I think is Picasa. It has the sphere shape thing on the album. I don't even use anything like Picasa. Is there a way I can get rid of the album? There's 3 photos and when there's no option to delete them even if I hit the menu...

Camera shutter sound on Galaxy S3

I read online it's impossible to turn off the shutter sound on the Galaxy S3 unless you're rooted. Supposedly due to some public places like government buildings forbidding pictures to be taken. True?

Hey all I found an article in Mashable about how hackers are now targeting Androids that run Gingerbread.
