    AF: New Forum Organization (FEEDBACK)

I was able to at least get square avatars on Internet Explorer 8 (kinda surprised the forum even loads!) but the rest of the layout was sorta broken so I'm just gonna stick to this Firefox 52 which looks better but sadly with round avatars. The round look just bugs the living heck out of me. I...

    HELP! SMILEY FACE ICON

Took me forever to realize that the 'mickey mouse shorts' icon was Discord and the 'Pac-Man Ghost' icon was Snapchat.

    I can't get in!!

Yeah honestly screw Tapatalk. I was so sick of them using pop-ups to install their app when a browser worked perfectly fine. Good riddance to that mess. The web browser is the most useful app on a smartphone to me. I don't need dozens of various apps to replace websites and Tapatalk encouraged...

A commentary on Galaxy S23 bloat

I am sorta surprised your area has analogue anything. I would think you'd have gone like the UK and gotten rid of AM completely... I suppose I'm glad I don't live in China. Does this mean you don't have RDS either? (Radio Data Service) that's been a thing here since like 2004.

    Total by Verizon BAD?

In the end worrying about what others think was too stressful. I for example don't favor anything 'modern' so I don't use Amazon and don't use modern smartphones. I have a Galaxy S4 Mini and it does the job fine. I am honestly trying to 'de-tech' from my life and restore the vintage 1950s style...

    Total by Verizon BAD?

Yeah I'm going to use what works in my area and where I travel, online reviews be damned. I still get miffed when people plan a vacation but OMG it has one less star! What are they gonna do?! seriously people get over yourselves. I don't use Total as up until recently they were T-Mobile based...

    Total by Verizon BAD?

I don't care about reviews online, or via yelp, or that stuff. I care more about public opinion and mainly what works best for me. Given the tech in my life being the least popular most of the time, I can say without a doubt I love that which everyone else hates. So online reviews wouldn't mean...

    Heartbroken

I get 'futurist' remarks all the time about the phone I use (Galaxy S4 Mini running its old TouchWiz UX that resembles Android 2.3) and I either ignore them or give them a snappy remark. Around here, dogs/cats are often used against veganism. I think non-vegans relate better with carnivorous...

Movies You *Won't* Watch Again ...

so it's related and worse, one of many of the 'nobody asked for this' reboots? Why even make a movie adaptation of a musical anyway? It doesn't work. Especially today.

A commentary on Galaxy S23 bloat

Yes, my offline does all of that since the data is stored locally. It uses HD radio for traffic alerts/accidents and does rather well. Plus, unlike Google Maps, doesn't take me through the worst, most busy part of NC to save 9 minutes. The Nuvi is the only one that has taken me on the best route...

Help Anybody have any idea what this app is? ? There's multiple NEW sketchy looking "systemapps" like this on my android, Cant adjust permissions or Uninst

Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

That's because no human is behind those 'email addresses'. All bots. AI's. I used to have great fun messing with them. They range from utter stupid to quite sophisticated and the responses were golden. It was like Kitboga doing texting to scammers. He did actually create a very rudimentary AI...

    a52, a52s or a53

I'm well aware that OEMs are also using letters/numbers. Still confusing. Car manufacturers do the same. Maybe I'm just gettin' too old for this **** Thankfully my two vehicles have names. Saturn Ion, Honda Ridgeline. Even my computers have names. Dell Vostro. Dell Latitude. I was brought up...

A commentary on Galaxy S23 bloat

If I have to look at something, it better not strain my eyes. Flat UI strains my eyes and just makes me depressed to look at. I prefer my GPS having buttons that look pressable at least. Not to mention the 3D buildings, and junction views. If I wanted a 2D top-down perspective I'd play Fallout 4...

    Big Changes at Android Forums

I'm not finding the setting (assuming it's been added) just checked my user CP and nope. Not under main forum menu either. EDIT: I'm an idiot. It was hidden on bottom left corner under 'default style'. Wow this is much better. Now my browser window matches my Winamp app.

Help How do I stop this Home button popup?

I've also seen instances where another app's 'draw other over apps' permission interferes with the default launcher setting as well, but not sure why. Check to see if the survey app has a draw other over apps setting and try turning it off. That would be in the application manager's listing for...

Help How do I stop this Home button popup?

I don't think that's the pop-up the OP is referring to. The OP's getting the 'select default launcher as home' pop-up for what seems to be no real reason. The default home launcher setting doesn't appear to be sticking, or another app is interfering with it. The only time this happened with me...

A commentary on Galaxy S23 bloat

I was trying to make the point from the OEM's perspective. For an average user, it makes more sense to have the device ready to go out of the box and not after spending hours downloading essential apps. That was one of the things that often bugged me about stock Android. I would spend hours...

A commentary on Galaxy S23 bloat

I personally prefer Samsung's messages, browser, music and gallery apps. I don't, however, find them forcing Tiktok or Facebook as system apps very appealing. But the argument I make for anyone complaining about 'bloatware' is that it's always so one sided. It's bad because Samsung offers a...

Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

I've seen gravestones with the font. That's what makes it funny to me. But in all honesty I find Comic Sans easier to read. Something about the way it's made is easy on my eyes. That's why it's my default browser font.
