Actually, if i'm not mistaken, it's Notes that get once-a-year upgrades, while the S-series get one every six months. the S5 came out a mere few months after the S4 launched.
As for the issue of older devices getting newer versions of the OS, i would bet on the same reasons it's a bad idea to...
i wouldn't suggest that app developers themselves adapt to two different interfaces. After all, no one is asking them to make apps that work in Easy Mode which Samsung has offered for ages.
I'm suggesting the choice at the OS level that not only changes the theme, but also the stock apps (such...
Android is meant to auto-load services and core apps automatically. the more apps you have installed the more that attempt to fit into memory until it reaches a limit and that's where the infamous 'Android Lag' comes from. it's by design and trying to circumvent it will only grant more problems...
I am sure that there is some cult following of people who still use the HTC Dream, just like the few who still hold onto their Motorola StarTAC. not everyone is crazy for the newest and greatest device. the Dream is still usable and at least offers the Android Market, still every bit as...
it's not enough to get icons that look polished. the apps themselves will forever maintain their horrid flat designs no matter which launcher or icon pack i install.
For example, if i wanted my LG G3 to sport the widgets and look/feel of the LG G2, i cannot do that. first of all there is no...
but this is not a rental. i bought the movie and i can pin the movie on my tablet, and it's tied to my personal Google account. so pardon me if i cannot see how i'm violating any ToS by beaming a movie i bought, on a device tied to my Google account, to my Smart TV? does any of that make sense...
i was speaking of Nestle in re: the horse meat scandal. hence my disdain at the name KitKat being part of a Google/Nestle partnership. being an animal lover myself, it felt as if i was buying into a company i want nothing to do with.
As for UI design, yea, the flat simple crap is really getting...
even Nickelodeon makes better 'fakes'. i actually think the 'PearPhone' was a neat looking device, even if it's supposed to be a mockup of an Apple iPhone. the pear-shaped screen is just unique. we need more unique phones these days--everything looks the same!
it's so odd how 6 years later it looks more like something right out of the mid-1990s. to this day the super fast upgrade cycle of Android and phone hardware makes even a one-year old device look ancient. sad since i prefer to keep something for a long time, but that's getting increasingly...
I had a trial of Vudu not long ago that I let expire. Their selection was horribly limited, and it was stream only. I might try a false internet connection (device thinks it is online, has IP address) and try Samsung mirror and see if I can fool it.
As I said I know of no other such service with the ability to download them and play them offline. Amazon Instant is stream only, Samsung is stream only, etc. I could buy another iPad and buy them via iTunes and airplay them but wow that's not a really cheap solution.
Not sure. But amoled also succumbs to burn in. Its sorta like plasma. Super AMOLED displays often have a green tint due to the penile matrix. The Galaxy S3 was bad about it. What I don't get is why they haven't used Super AMOLED Plus since the Galaxy S2. It was a better screen for AMOLED.
Depends on whether or not this issue persists with one, not keen on wasting money. Sad part is that Play Movies doesn't store offline video in any format such as mp4 so if the issue is due to the Play Movies app I have no alternative. I know of no other movie service that even allows offline...
It really is sad the whole blind loyalty to Google these forums seem to be. Say one thing bad about Play Store and they act like you're nuts. It is as if Play Store is the only valid option if you buy Android phones. Whatever happened to freedom?
Usually the status will show "emergency calls only" on the lockscreen. But most devices will show an empty cell signal by default without a SIM or show "SOS" in place of it
Still I don't like having to play very long games from the very beginning just because I either wipe or buy a new device. Too much grinding on many games that took a year to complete. Apple icloud has always saved game data. Not sure what point there is in Google Play Games if cloud saves aren't...
Contacting money network might be a lost cause seeing as they would likely want the account info before adjusting email or other notification settings and I certainly don't have any of that.
I might try that link suggested above about blocking web domain texts though. Worst case scenario just...
The error comes up when using Samsung Screen Mirroring as well so it really has nothing to do with Chromecast exclusively. In the end I had to sacrifice the data to watch that movie. I just allocate some gigabytes for a movie each weekend.
I suppose I could work around the issue by using a...
