The terrific Italian actor Remo Girone has died at 76; he had been battling bladder cancer for some time. I best remember him as portraying Enzo Ferrari in "Ford v. Ferrari." RIP, Mr. Girone, with thanks for sharing your talents. Condolences to your fans, friends, family and loved ones.

It's been on our doormat for about three hours. We won't be home for another hour-twenty or so. :)

It happens every couple of cycles. I think it's a little ironic that people complain about having to buy a new laptop (lots of desktop style PCs can be upgraded) because it can't be upgraded to the new version, but no one seems to complain when you have to chuck your phone every few years...

I decided to do a little experiment. I'm in the Shanghai Pudong airport and just ordered something from Amazon on Prime, but just the regular next-day delivery. (It's 1:34 PM on 10/1 in Shanghai.) I'm betting that the Amazon order will be at our home before we are. :)

We actually took a boat ride around West Lake. As you doubtless know, I was joking about the beer, though truth to tell, if we'd been close, it would have been fun to meet just for the heck of it. I think Beijing is as close as we got to Mongolia. :)

Ponder the irony of traveling halfway around the globe to spend almost all of our free time in Wu Xi in a cheap souvenir shop looking at (and buying some) crap, pretty much all of which we could have gotten at a dollar store back home for almost exactly the same price...

There's something ironic about sipping Fireball while looking out my hotel window overlooking Suzhou... And waiting for my wife to yell at me again. Nice to know you can go halfway round the globe and still have the constants of home...

Both my wife and I think that the carpet pattern in the HK airport looks like police chalk outlines. Not what you really want to think about at an airport...or maybe it's just me! :D
