Only way i can see if i have a message is to hit refresh. I don't even get a alert sound when i get a new message now.

Hi all, I just picked up a Droid today, and I just seen, above the 4 touch buttons when they are lit up, if you tilt the phone down you can see light leaking up to the edge of the screen. Does anyone else have this problem or should I return my device? Thanks
