Just installed recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.0.2-bravo and find it so much faster to navigate. Playing around again but coming back to dGB for the amazing space obtained after installing the custom hboot.

    Root A while ago...

I bricked my Desire many months ago. :/ I have had a new phone since but, I was wondering if there is something new that has appeared to un-brick. Basically, I S-Offed and messed up something shortly after, totally my error. I turn the phone on and I get a triangle in each corner /!\ with a...

    Root AndroidMe

I just have to say that AndroidMe, specifically 1.1 is a terrific ICS ROM. It's clean and fast plus the battery life is fantastic as well. I'm just a user but I can say I prefer the no-fluff approach having no CPU, battery, kernel tweaked ROM. To me this is a lot like Oxygen on my previous...

Finally, a tablet that I like...

I eat my words... my last tablet left me a bit jaded, the A500 did not want to update therefore I had no choice but to root. I have gone through a Playbook, Thrive, 2x Transformers and an A500 over the last couple of months. Having a new device I know I can root/unroot etc but, I shouldnt have...

    Help A500 update n/a

Just got an amazing deal on a 32GB A500 and current installed version is 3.0.1. After clicking update it says my system is up to date... Wrong. Is there an OTA 3.2.* update or is there another method? (besides rooting) *** np, I decided to root once I saw Richard Trip had HoneyVillian ROM for...

    Case for the Transformer?

I had a Toshiba Thrive for a short amount of time but the Transformer went on sale and I switched. So I'm on the hunt for a slim case that can also hold the unit on an angle. A hard cover flap for the front would be nice as well. Thanks for any model suggestions.

    Thrive keyboard lag? Try this...

I notice huge lag when first typing with the Thrive, especially in the browser. I checked my memory, etc to see if something was taking up resources and all looked ok. Then a bit of Googling I found that the default enabled keyboard is Swype. Swype was the culprit. What you can try is the stock...

    Help 3.2 update for Thrive?

Everything is very smooth with 3.1.05.0006 (the exact version I have) so Im not overly concerned however, System update says I'm up-to–date. Is there an official 3.2 for the Thrive?

Root ICS on Nexus S, part 2

Over at XDA kwiboo has a working ICS ROM. I just installed it by doing the standard wipe and cleared the dalvik cache. Install the ROM and WiFi patch and reboot. Very smooth so far. I'll install my apps after dinner ;) BTW, my device is the Nexus S i9020a.

Soon to be a tablet owner...

I have my laptop up for sale locally and intend on getting the Asus Transformer or the Acer equivilent. Right now the difference locally is $50 CDN, the Asus being the pricier of the two. Played with the units at a few stores now and it does what I need. The 7" Acer is also very attractive...

Root ICS beta10 on Nexus S

Just rooted today, knew that was going to happen soon ;-) I have been keeping track (somewhat) of the ICS rom over at XDA and decided to flash it. So far, so good. I really am enjoying the interface and the widgets that are built-in. Seems very smooth/fast with no lag or jumpy scrolling, etc...

    Root 152 Error - Desire

I think I killed my phone, my fault too. :o Hopefully, there is a way around it. I was playing around and wanted to briefly check something on the stock ROM so without thinking I started the RUU process. Problem is, I S-Off'ed yesterday and had a custom MTD loaded. When the RUU failed I got a...

    Root USB Transfer Speed

Using USB I have noticed AOSP ROMs to have about 1/3 the transfer speed from Computer to Phone when compared to the stock HTC 2.2 ROM. Example, I get 2.5 to 3.0MB/s when copying a file using Sense 2.2 and about 900KB/s when using GV, Oxygen, DevNull, etc. Also tried different computers as well...

Root Cool Kingdom v7 on Desire

Just installed Cool Kingdom v7 and I have to say, its very fast. Seems as quick if not a bit quicker than the stock ROM. As far as stability, I've only had it running for about 1 hour. Sense 3.0 is slick

    Help Battery in stock 2.2

I've gone back to stock for the next little while, I have a 'feeling' the OTA 2.3 is just around the corner for Telus users. Also, the constant flashing and trying new or updated ROMs was distracting me from my studies. ;) I really do like Sense. When I booted up I have 135MB of internal space...

Location Cache: manual delete. ***no longer need to be Rooted

If you are rooted here is a way to delete the Location Cache files manually. Location Cache records all the areas you have been to and stores them on your device. I'm not overly paranoid about this sort of tracking but, I do clear those files of at random times during the week. It's just like...

    Sending numbers to directly VM

Let's just say you don't want to install a 3rd party call blocker. Just add the number to your contacts with a name like: Zzz Bob Smith. (I use Zzz at the begining to put then at the bottom of the list and not clutter up the contact list.) Now open the contact and select the hard Menu button >...

    Root Location Cache Viewer

For those who are keeping up with with news, in a nutshell: iPhones and now Androids have been keeping tabs on where you've been by tracking and logging the data in a cache on the phone. Here is a solution to atleast read those hidden files on your phone so you can see where you've been...
