A guy I know showed up today with a Note 2 that a friend of his had tried to root. Phone is stuck on the Samsung logo, can't boot into recovery or anything, volume up+home button+power still only goes to samsung boot logo. Is there any help for this phone or does he now own a Note 2...

I want to do a wipe and reflash a rom. When wiping though, should i just wipe, then flash while still in recovery, or wipe - reboot - go through the set up, then boot into recovery and flash the rom?
