My phone will be sitting on the table and the screen will just turn on by itself sometimes, no notifications, nothing! i have the wave to view screen function turned off and nothing is even waving in front of it. help please!

i did a bunch of searching and everyone said to use towel root but i tried it and it says my device is not compatible (verizon s5) then after more digging i realized that after the most recent android update towel root doesn't work anymore.. does anyone have another way to root the s5? much thanks
