    Don't think so, my wife has a xiaomi redmi note 10 pro, I could add my Google account to her phone without any problems.

    I had the same issue. Make sure you are logged off with the Google user. Log in to Mi account by entering your google user, not by signing in with Google user. After you succeed to log in to Mi account, the Google account appears as signed in :)
