I am aware of the security benefits of this feature; however, I don't think they are necessary for me. Actually, having my android reset after a certain amount of failed password attempts seems to do more harm than good.
Recently, I left my phone out on a table at a friend's house, and she tried to guess the password (without malicious intent) 10 times. Because she didn't read the warning, she accidentally resetted my phone to factory mode. I had to spend the next 6 hours waiting for my backed up data to redownload on my phone, and I lost a majority of my pictures, which I value very much.
This mistake could have been easily prevented if the feature that reset my phone was off. I'm not a secret agent or anything of the sort, so if my phone were to be stolen, I wouldn't have any especially classified information that I would want wiped from my phone.
How do I turn off the setting that resets my LG K8 V to factory mode whenever someone inputs an incorrect password a certain number of times?
