128GB Note 5's ??

What do you think about the 128GB model of the Note 5?

  • I didn't want that much storage and will buy a 32GB or 64GB model.

With the Note 5, Samsung eliminates microSD storage, sings praises for the device's improved photo and video capabilities, AND limits storage options to 64GB - when it's totally obvious they intended on offering a 128GB model. How do we get our providers and Samsung to at least correct this part of their terrible decisions for the Note 5?

Okay, well I say that Samsung is full of shit that it was a simple typo and that they originally had planned a 128gb all along after the above story and then playing with the Note5 at my local Best Buy and saw these screens in the specs...

So, somewhere along the line they decided to not have a 128gb for now.. I say for now because I have a feeling that maybe it will be added in the future - especially with the way they answered in those articles above.

Maybe it's not being launched in the UK this year because they want to see the reception first, and eventually will come out with 128gb models. (And at that point we all will be waiting for the Note6. LOL!)

Whatever the explanation is, it's clear it's NOT based on what their customers (who care at all about the issue) want. That means it's based on something else, and whatever that actually is, is irrelevant. The fact that they're putting their customer's rational, highly justified wants anything but first is a massively self-defeating trajectory unfolding in plain view. Why is it that no company ever seems to be able to steer far clear of the kinds of ideas, desires and executives that do this? Got a goose that lays golden eggs? Great!! How about we minimize what we buy to feed it, so we can keep more of the egg revenues, for bigger profits? The goose is going to drop dead in four years from malnutrition? Who cares!? I'm already going to have my 2 billion in profits in the bank. Thanks goose!!!

For what it's worth, I just engaged in an online chat session with a Samsung rep who insisted I will be able to get the 128GB model Note 5 from BestBuy. Of course, when I go to the BestBuy web site, and click on the link for the Note 5 listed for sale, it brings me to an empty BestBuy catalog page. I'm not really surprised by that - could just be a web content error on BestBuy's part for getting the Note 5 in general into their online catalog. However, I'll be pretty darn shocked and surprised if it does turn out that they really will have a 128GB version for sale. Right?

Oooo, look! More pages on Samsung's own website where they still need to go back to cover up that there were 128GB Note 5's on the way. I got these links from Samsung's online chat support - they are still saying 128GB Note 5's are available from places like BestBuy and AT&T, based on seeing these links in their system:

I'm grabbing screen shots for souvenirs.

I think anyone who cares about this issue should feel free to spend time pressuring Samsung about it. Maybe they'll blink and start at least making the 128GB model available - if not really fix their blunder and put out the Note 6 with microSD again, and either a much bigger battery, or user swap-able battery access.

Ya gotta wonder, with a company as sprawling as Samsung if the various separate divisions/departments Ever talk to each other.
One would think of all things, the marketing heads & bean counters would see the irony/conflict-of-interest in offering the NOTE 5 sans SD Card slot & these :
