Looking at buying new phone. How much performance difference is there from the 16 to 32GB model? I do not mind spending the extra money for 32, but they seemed to be back ordered. Will haev to wait Is it worth the wait

16GB vs 32GB internal memory

There is no difference in performance between 16 and 32GB, just how much stuff you can put on it.
I had the same problem and I didn't want to wait so I got the 16GB and a 32GB microsd card for $25 to put my music and set to record videos and pictures onto it.
That's exactly what I did. 16GB S3 + 32GB card. More than plenty for my needs. Currently have 7GB free internal and 8GB free on card. Unless you play a lot of graphic intensive games, 16Gb should be plenty.

Keep in mind that the OS takes up 5+ gb of memory, but what's left is plenty for apps.

This has been said numerous times before, but bears repeating. Apps can't be moved to memory card, so remember that when deciding.
Simple, if you plan to use many apps, games in point then get a 32gb. Download and play till your hearts content. With the 16gb you might want to keep one eye on things. Just my thoughts of course. The 32gb is also 50 bucks more though(verizon). Pretty good deal actually.

Totally w/ Rdjr74 on this one. $50 is nothing for more memory since phone memory in this case is way more important then memory card memory IMO.
I just learned something new about this phone. I didn't even notice that I can't move apps to the sd card like I was able to on the I9100. Does the I9300 support this feature?

ICS doesn't allow apps to be moved to memory card.
16gb is plenty for apps. I'm willing to bet you won't come close to filling it up before you move on to the next phone. Now games are another thing entirely. So if you're a hardcore gamer, you may want to go with the 32gb. If not, I don't think it's worth the wait.

Exactly, hard core gamer here. Example: Asphalt 7 is 1.38GB. So all & all like you said it's what you use your device for should depend on if you get 16 or 32GB's.
If you are questioning on which to get, then its best to play it safe and get the 32GB. If you get the 32GB you will later say to yourself I'm glad I did. But if you get the 16Gb, you might say to yourself later I wish I got the 32GB. The other thing to look at it the fact that apps can not be moved to SD Card with this phone, which others above have mentioned. I have a few games and a load of apps on my phone. I have used 7GB of space already. I am glad I have the 32GB. I would have been mad at myself had I gotten the 16GB. Another thing to think about is how long do you plan on having this phone. If you are going to have it for about two years I think a 32GB is a must.

Im pretty happy with my 16gb and knowing me as soon as the note 2 comes out i will get it and it will become my gameing phone isted of my s3
Actually, the OP is asking whether it's worth waiting for the 32GB which is back ordered. I'm saying that for most, it simply isn't worth the wait.
I decided to buy the Dark Knight Rises game last night, which is a whopping 1.9GB, because I'm a big Batman fan. So now I have two fairly hefty games: TDKR and ME: Infiltrator (not including smaller sized games like angry birds, chess, FF3, space invaders infinity and Warball Pinball). Even after that, I still have 5.3GB left:
And that's really only because I'm lazy. I've already finished ME so I could just get get rid of that game, which would save me 840MB. I also have 628MB of pics and vids stored to internal for absolutely no reason. And my 1.7GB nandroid backup is there too. So I could drop ME and easily move these other files to my sdcard and have close to 9GB free. The only reason I haven't done so is because I wouldn't know what to do with the extra space. Honestly, I'm seriously considering moving my music library (3.2GB) to internal because I feel like I'm just wasting the free internal space I have right now.
As I said before, in my view 16GB will last most users the entire life of there phone without any issues. Apps alone are simply not large enough to get you anywhere close to 5GB let alone 12GB. So my advice to the OP is if you don't play games often or don't need more than a few on your phone at any given time, then it's not worth the wait. Get the 16GB, buy a class 10 32GB card for half the price of the $50 you would have paid more for the 32GB and don't look back. Also, remember, you can always use the 32GB card on another device after you move on from the S3.

Normal apps are fine. Some games are 1.5GB+

This helps me make this decision. I am not much of a gamer. Heavy business user. 32GB is backordered and I do not think that I will wait. Have a dying Thunderbolt!
Well the 3.5" floppy came out around 1981 and was 1.44 MB. Not sure which 5MB floppy disk you're talking about...

My $0.02, I can't imaging an average user running out of memory for apps with the 16GB version. Gamers, yes. Movie watchers can put stuff on the SD card which is far cheaper than the 32GB phone.

For me the wait was worth it. I am glad I waited for my 32GB GS3. Also you can get a class 10 64GB card for about $59.00.
