16Gb w/OTG vs 32GB

The meenova seems to be slow even with a class10 microSD card. I haven't measured the speed but the hit might be half the speed of internal memory. It's a little awkward to hold in the hand and because of the orientation of the usb port on the phone, the "back" side faces up. These are all small issues (except the speed, that's pretty noticeable) and I don't regret buying it, but I would definitely prefer having as much space on the internal drive as possible

edit: tried an app called SD Tools to measure the speed.

Internal: write: ~130MB/s; read ~200MB/s
Meenova: write: 40-80MB/s; read ~220MB/s

If you can get apps to install there, speed might not be a problem, just the inconvenience of having the adapter in the way

Tough call! One other thing to consider in favor of going 32gb, you can't charge with the meenova plugged in. It might be possible with other OTG devices

I don't like OTG as a solution - personally.

You've either got the problem of the inconvenience of an adapter or cable as well as having the ability to charge at the same time removed.

Also when I used OTG on my N7 it was limited in terms of features and I don't think app data was install-able as it was read only - but this may have changed?

My advice would be to get the amount of storage you need or at least the most you can afford.

For me the OTG solution is only really good for 2 uses :

- transferring data
- rarely accessed data - photos etc

I have a PK stick that's like the Meenova one only it also has 16gb built into the stick itself. It's a great little product but I'd not leave it plugged in, it's really only best when used for a short time - not great for in pockets etc.

You have one more option, SanDisk sells a WiFI Flash stick that will give you extra space without having to use an adapter cable. Getting a 32G N5 is the better option, but if you are stuck with the 16G version the the SanDisk is more convenient than a regular USB stick plus adapter cable and it does work with the N5.
