2.1 help/?'s/I want it now

I see that Sprint might be releasing 2.1 on Friday, does that mean Verizon is doing it the same day?

I have come across a few videos of 2.1 on youtube.com and wanted to know if anyone knew what we are getting. There were a few different versions. Are we getting 5 screens? Are we getting 3D?

After looking at the videos I really want 2.1 soon, before I did not really care but now I am excited.

If anyone has any info please share.

1. There's only speculation as to when this release will be happening. There are a TON of rumors of when it's dropping to Sprint, and/or Verizon.

2. 2.1 means different things to different phones. I assume you are running a HTC Hero? It depends if your phone has SenseUI or not.

3. You definitely should be excited. I've had 2.1 on my Eris for weeks now and it's "Incredible"

Seven screens, live wallpapers, pinch to leap. No 3D app drawer, sorry; that continues to be exclusive to vanilla Android. If you disable Sense, you can have it.

I'm running what's basically the same version of Sense you'll get on my N1. Feel free to ask if you want to know anything specific, though the version I've got is Desire rather than the Hero variant, but most things should be identical. You can probably look forward to new widgets, too, like coin flip (yeah, not exactly the most useful but what the hell, right?), "today in history" and a bunch of other fun-but-impractical stuff. Oh, and the Navigator app is nice. It opens up a window that gives you quick access to Footprints, navigation, voice search, map, search, and... well, making a call. Saves homescreen real estate if you just slap a shortcut of navigator on there.
