2.1 update message alert

Hi
I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to stop the update message from popping up. My phone is rooted and I don't plan on doing the update anytime soon. But a message keeps popping up and i click do it later and its getting to be annoying .....

I wish I had this problem, I'm having the exact opposite. I got the update message, clicked info, it says I'm up to date but I'm not. When I manually search for the update it still tells me I'm up to date. I'd love to get the message again, it's been 2 days.
