2 accounts, messages for 1

Is it possible to have 2 gmail accounts on the same phone and receive notifications for only 1 of them? How can that be set up if it is possible? It'd be great to allow different people to check their mail with maybe half of those annoying messages.

Mail notifications are set up on an account by account basis so yes, it is possible to have multiple accounts on one device with all, some, or none giving notification of receipt.

This certainly applies to both the Gmail app and my HTC stock mail app.

Yes it's possible as tom said. Here is hope you do it. Go into settings/accounts/Google/add account.

Then go into Gmail app, go into it's settings, press on the email address in question and deselect notifications.

Is there another app that you don't want notifications from?

I guess pretty much all of them. It's hard with a shared phone. Eventually maybe there'll be enough for all.
