Help 2 questions about my tablet?

Hi guys, so I have an archos 7 home tablet and I was looking through the settings, and insted of saying Android OS it said Kernal 2.6.25. What is that? Also, I have Appslib as the app store, and when I click on it, it says it needs an update but it won't let me click on it and eventually says it is not responding and it closes. What can I do to fix this? Thanks!

Android version should be listed right above your kernal version? At least thats how it is on Gingerbread, Honeycomb and ICS. I have all 3 OS versions on 3 different devices and that's how they are on mine? Maybe Archos is diffent.
oh yeah, and my non-ICS kernals are on 2.6.35.11

Are you the original owner? Archos might have been one of the tablets that didn't have Market. My Coby didn't. I had to sideload it.

If you got the tablet used - factory reset?

Go to the Appslib web page on a computer, register, and see if it will send to the tablet.
