Help 2 questions: damaged sd card and ram clearing

at the end of last year I brought a Samsung galaxy ace phone it came with a 2gb SD card. In the other phone I had before buying the Samsung galaxy ace I had a 32gb SD card and I wanted to put it into my Samsung phone but when I do it says SD card is damaged after about 30 seconds of putting it in. It says it needs reformatting and it says format but when I click on it, doesn't do anything at all. How can I get my phone to accept the 32GB SD card thanks any information appreciated x

I was always lead to believe 16GB is the max the Ace will handle,anything over that it has problems with.

Do you know anything about this:

When I click active applications an click Ram it says clear memory then up above it says 'clearing ram would finish some of the running applications . Save data before you clear Ram'

If I click clear memory will it delete everything on my SD card and on my phone or what will that do to my phone

Don't worry about the warning,it just means if you have apps open that you are working on,like document apps etc etc. It's fine to clear ram.
