Hi all
As I work away from home and I'm away for 10 days at a time, the apartment that I rent has a HDMI TV and has a USB port but the USB port doesn't support video
I fill my nexus up with moves and other stuff when I'm home and was just wondering instead of watching them on my nexus would a micro USB to HDMI cable able me to watch on the TV or would I need some sort of dongle

I think a Chromecast would be right up your alley. It would plug into the HDMI port and you could power it through the USB port. You could then wirelessly stream the videos from your N7 to the TV.

Do you have WIFI in the apartment? You need a WIFI connection for chromecast to work.

Isn't this pi a old item . I didn't think they still make its rounds . .that is a old school hack .

Not at all, and it's a lot more versatile than the single-purpose Chromecast.

No WiFi but have unlimited tethering from my phone which my 3g is around 4 Meg up and 1 down
