29 days and returned the X10

All I can say is I packed it up and returned my X10 to Amazon.com today. I had it for 29 days and learned allot about Android and what was important to me. Going back to my BB Curve has been strange too.

In general, I liked the device, the speed and Apps were great, the size of the screen ultimately was my downfall, it was just too small. I was also struggling with trying to update the OS with At&t and root it.

I knew when I first saw a Dell Streak in person last month I wanted it, but it was way over priced, I could just not justify the price they were asking. I had been watching the Streak since last April, gave up for a Samsung Tab in August and gave up on it when Samsung removed the phone. I really wanted a tablet computer with phone features.

Then 2 days ago, Best Buy dropped the price to $99 and I knew I had to switch. So today I am back to my BB until Amazon gets my X10 back, processes it and resets my contract with At&t. I went to Best Buy tonight right after I dropped off my UPS return. Even though the Dell is only 1" larger, it seems like twice as large. I did see a Samsung Tab too and it was way too big to be pocketable.

It will probably be at least a week before I can pick up my new device, I doubt anything new will come onto the market in the 5 to 6 inch size in the short term, I know the Streak2 is rumored for next May, but then so was the first Streak and it was 4 months late coming to market.

On a side note, I guess I need to put a few things up for sell, the pouch style case which is a SE branded case and a 8GB SD card. Can I do that here, or do I need to create a thread in the "For Sale" section?

The screen was too small??!?!?! I think you need to go to an optician or you're crazy in the mind, it's a phone not a tablet! The X10 has many faults but the screen size isn't one of them.

Since I upgraded to this phone, a day hasn't gone by when something hasn't royally p****d me off, but I have to agree with Werthers; the screen size (for a phone) is brilliant.

And I agree with you; for a phone, but a phone is the last of my uses, I probably make 1 call a day and use about 50 minutes a month.

Comparing the X10 to the Samsung Galaxy S (which both have a 4" screen) shows that the Sumsung screen appears much larger, I think because it is wider and the X10 is skinner.

My goal is to get an internet device that is pockable and does have phone functions on both 3G and Wifi.

If it makes you feel any better, I will be 55 next month; so yes my eyes are getting bad, but my ears still work

This is what I was doing last night, my BB doesn't even get a signal at the village  but my X10 did.

Haha! That picture is awesome, my girlfriend loves rabbits she'll love this picture. I hope I'm doing stuff like that when I'm 55 nice one! :D

One of the reasons I moved back to Florida. I really missed volunteering at Give Kids the World and the kids. It is truly a wonderful experience and I know I get so much more out of the experience. A typical night includes meeting all the families in the Gingerbread house then riding the Carousel with the kids, doing a street party at the CandyLand park and finally 1 to 4 tuck-ins the end the night.

A tuck-in with a Wish child is unbelievable and I can't even come close to describing the experience, but I will try :D First, you never know what is waiting for you when you open that door, most of the kids are somewhat normal, in remission or hide their sickness. A :tuck-in" is a family experience, I tuck-in all the kids, not just the Wish Child. If a child is scared of a huge rabbit, I will tuck-in Dad or Grandma, they love it when we mess with dad.

Most times, it is a fun/joyful experience, pillow fights, bouncing on the bed, tickling their toes, playing "this little piggy...", but then you have those that are just a picture opportunity too. I do this every Sunday night, have been since 2002 (except the 2 years we lived in Arkansas).

A tuck-in from this Sunday, went like this. 2 little boys, around 3-5 years old, all happy, bubbly, they were happy to see the Mayor and then a younger boy who was afraid. So I tucked-in the first 2 boys, tore their beds apart, threw the blankets all over, bounced on the beds, normal stuff, took a few pictures, etc. But I still had a little guy who wasn't too sure about the Mayor. So as I left the bedroom & I grabbed the Dad and took him to the master BR. When I enter the room is when I saw the Wish Child on a blanket on the floor. I continued to tuck Dad in, messed with him, tickled his toes, tore up the bed, etc. Then I went to the wish child, he was hooked up to allot of equipment and while I was tucking in his dad all kinds of alarms went off, but they said he was "good".

The young boy was in pretty bad shape, but he did respond to me, I laid down on the floor next to him and played with him a little and posed for pictures. He was excited and set off the alarms again, but it was all good.

After giving them a autographed picture, it was time to hug mom and say goodbye.

Tuck-Ins at the Village is something that you would never forget, something I live for every week.
