ok, so I have a t-mobile G2... bought a $30 pair of htc innovation headset from the local t-mobile store. 7-10 days in people on the other line during calls were complaining of horrible static. headphones worked fine, mic was the problem. the guy at the store was nice enough to replace them at no cost thinking it could be a faulty pair
another 10 days in at the new headset I have the exact same issue with the mic static. bring them back in a second time and there was nothing he would do obviously being the 2nd time. the G2 is a heavy phone, so I was thinking perhaps at some point the weight was pulling it hard enough that it was yanking one end of the wire from the little mic compartment.
i went to bestbuy a week + ago and got a $18 pair of ifrogz mic headphones. the 2 HTC ones had the earphones connected to the mic piece. the ifrogz pair has a little metalish piece before the wires seperate into two earphones with the mic compartment on one single earphone line, so I'm thinking that this would protect any pulling if that was the cause on the previous ones. i had used the headset just fine wednesday night talking and then thursday morning one my first call the other person simply couldn't hear me. (other 2 HTC were static)
I'm not rough with the phone/headset so I'm really confused as to why this is happening especially after 10 days or so each time, as opposed to say a few months or so. could it be something with the G2 somehow causing something back up through the mic? any ideas would be appreciated before I go to the store and drop another $20
