Im new to WhatsApp- & having problems-

1- Both me & my friend are using Samsung Phones- but the problem maybe on my end because mine is Old & his is Fairly new- we both have whatsapp installed- when I ring through whatsapp - his phone does Not ring- but I can hear his phone ringing - how can we Fix this ???
2- when I send him a text message/msm through whatsapp this message displays on his phone Only 2 seconds & then Disappears - How can we fix this ,so it stays until he deletes it ???
3- when I click call or Video call - through whatsapp - my icon microphone has got a line going through it -even though I gave whatsapp Permission to use my camera & Microphone - how can I fix this ??

I've never met most of these before, but let's see what we can do.

1 - Sounds like a problem on his phone. I'd be inclined to try agreeing a time to call him and then have him watching his screen at that time to see whether anything happens. If he sees the incoming call notification but there is no sound then the problem is with his phone's sound settings (either WhatsApp app's settings or system ones). If there is no response then the problem is harder to trace: your hearing ringing implies that WhatsApp's servers are telling your phone that it is paging his phone, so the problem could be within WhatsApp's own systems or it could be a problem with his phone or account. Does his WhatsApp's history show that he missed calls from you? If not it implies they never got to his phone. Does he have problems with WhatsApp from anyone else?

2 - I assume you do not mean "MMS" but are actually talking about WhatsApp messages. MMS refers to a particular protocol, and I do not believe WhatsApp can send or receive that. Sorry to be pedantic, but misusing a term can cause confusion (it had me going and checking whether WhatsApp could act as an SMS/MMS client, for example).

As for messages disappearing, you mean from the Chat or just the notification disappearing? If just the notifications it might be his system settings. If it's the messages disappearing from the Chats that's a different matter (and a very strange one).

3 - That's a "mute" icon. You press it if you want to silence the call. Do you not also have a camera icon with a line through it (to turn off the camera)? Same thing. In other words, this does not sound like a problem, more likely you have just misunderstood what the icon means.

What model Samsung phone do you have and more importantly, which version of Android is it running?

I see these whatsapp questions all the time.. They make me cringe. Whatsapp is owned by Facebook. 'Nuff said.

You see those specific questions all of the time? The first 2 I've never seen before, so do you have any answers? (The third I'm sure is a simple misunderstanding)

No, I see generic whatsapp questions a lot. I personally don't use the app, it's billed as a privacy app, but it's owned by what is arguably the biggest violator of privacy. That was my only point.

Well as long as they are honest about the end-to-end encryption Facebook cannot see your messages - and it would be such a big deal if they weren't that it would be very risky for the business to lie about it. Of course they do know who you are talking to, but it doesn't give them anything like as much information as using Facebook or Instagram gives them. Of course their pre-FB model (free for a year, then a modest subcription) was better than having FB anywhere near it, but until the regulators grow some teeth that is what it is: you deal with it or you try to persuade people to install something else.

To be honest, given the number of users WhatsApp has I don't think it has a lot of problems. After all, we also see a lot of generic questions about SMS (and more about MMS), and I'm sure the reason we don't see a similar number about Signal or Telegram is because they have orders of magnitude fewer users.

Some mobile errors do not match the original. Try downloading Ogwhatsapp available on techbigs, besides it has other interesting features that you have not used.
I don't understand the first sentence.
As for the rest, you install a modified apk from an unknown source at your own risk.
