3D/2D viewing.

I bought a VR headset and it works great for 3D apps and videos. I'd like to use it for watching 2D content on the aeroplane or bus but the single screen is obviously distorted. Is there a way to split the screen to get two side by side images and watch 2D content with the VR headset?

What app are you using to watch the videos with? Also is this stuff you've copied to the phone yourself or are you watching stuff via Netflix or another streaming service?
