How do i know wether my 3G is active or not in samsung s3

can you please tell your mobile carrier name or just check when you do a 3g recharge that your mb's(net card data balance) are getting deducted or your money.
if money then it's 2g
if 3g net card balance then it's 3g.
or you can download any of these apps to switch to 3g.

Under Settings - About phone - Status

You can see signal strength, mobile network type, and service state. These will tell you if you have 3G signal and if it is active.
