I have just had my HTC Desire unlocked from Orange and the Sim from my Nokia Lumia 800 (3 network) put into the HTC. The 3G does not seem to be working as I cannot get onto the internet or pick up my emails.

If data is working with that SIM in another phone then most likely you need to change the APN settings, which are probably still set for the Orange network. Look in Network Settings, Mobile Data, Access Point Names. You should be able to get the settings you need from your network operator - they are probably on their website somewhere.

Did you make sure that you set up your APN correctly? To get to your APN settings (this is phone dependent but it should be close to this) select Settings, then select the More... that is listed under Data Usage. Next select Mobile Networks, then select Access Points. You need to make sure that the information is set correctly for Three Network. If you do not have any Three Network access points available, create a new one with these settings:

Name – 3 Internet
APN - three.co.uk
Proxy, Port, Username, Password & Server - Please leave blank
MMSC - http://mms.um.three.co.uk:10021/mmsc
MMS PROXY - mms.three.co.uk
MMS Port - 8799
MCC - 234
MNC - 15
Authentication type - None
APN type - Internet & MMS (If no selection available , leave blank )

Hope this helps :)
