3G Watchdog data usage

I just got my G2x today and am fairly new to android. I am using T-Mobile and are on their 200MB plan. Watchdog currently says I used 149.15MB of data. I left 4G on because I thought it would only use WiFi when I am connected on it. Apparently not since I should e nowhere near 150MB if I did everything on WiFi. I noticed and quickly just turned off APN. The thing is when I go into the App I get 149.16MB used but when I go to Usage by application I get a measly 106.1KB used. What's going on? I understand that the usage by application might not be "accurate" but it can't be that inaccurate right?

Also in order to use less data is there a way to turn off AdMob while on 4G or just completely.

Also I am liking extended controls but I need APNDroid for 3G Watchdog and with APNDroid installed Extended Controls can't seem to control the APN using it's toggle so at the moment I have APN widget running as well which I am aiming to get rid of.

Check your WiFi sleep policy settings. It's frequently overlooked. Default on most devices disables WiFi when the screen is off to save power.

I think I have figured out the reason why. The wifi connection seems to be a little wonky it would go off and on suddenly even though it is connected as in it would be connected but it can't actually use the internet which might have forced it to use 3g/4g data. Yeah and I found that out the sleeping policy later on. Right now I just leave 3g/4g off when not using it to be extra sure until I can figure out why WiFi is so wonky.

I can't imagine 200MB per month could be enough with an Android phone. I average over 600MB and I only use WiFi at home and switch off mobile data when I go to bed.

If you're any more than an occasional data user, I would suggest upgrading your data plan.
