3gp videos restart is you try to fast forward

I am not streaming these, I have downloaded them. I can play them perfectly with several different players I have downloaded. The problem is that if I try to fast forward or skip ahead in a video, it doesn't. It just restarts the video. Even is I have watched the video 1/2 way through. If I try to skip ahead or even backward, the video just restarts at the beginning. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

My phone is T-mobile mytouch 4g if that makes a difference.
