3rd-party developers can see private links shared through Facebook Messenger

When you share a link with someone on Facebook Messenger, you would think that link would stay private. Sadly, it doesn't seem to work that way.

The way Facebook handles links, the company extracts the title, the description and the thumbnail image and then stores it in their database. This database entry can be surfaced by any 3rd-party developer through the Facebook API.
