Help 3rd party text app interferes with voice mail

is there a work around for using a 3rd party text app (go sms pro) so that voice mail is not affected? If i receive a vm (with that app installed), i get a text message from "ANDROID" 9016, and do not get the voice mail message. i called sprint tech support and they advised me to remove go sms pro app. once i did, my voice mail messages came through. apparently, voice mail and text app are somehow linked??:confused:
PLEASE help......I do not like the app installed!

GoSMS for some reason does not work. Voice mails are sent to the phone as SMS and GoSMS doesn't allow the text to pass on to the voice mail service.

The good news is that Handcent works like a charm. I have it installed now. I like it a bit better than GoSMS anyway. Seems like a little cleaner solution. There are others out there. I tried Pansi a while back and that seemed to work as well.

Thank you. I did install Handcent yesterday and it's working. But I had problems with that app with my previous phone (Droid). It kept locking up all my apps! I'll keep it if I have to, but I'm told there is a solution for getting go sms pro to be compatible.
 
It will work just fine. The issue is that when you have GO SMS kill all other apps it messes up the voicemail stuff. Go back into the stock SMS and enable the settings again but turn off notifications. Fixes the issue, a d I like GO more than handcent! I also use Google voice though so just listen to my voicemails that way! ;-)
 
I had to unninstall Handcent because it was interfering with all sorts of things, including my voicemail (which I run through Google voice). Even my keyboard was acting funky (thumb keyboard). I unninsalled and its working fine now.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say "go back into the stock SMS". Do you mean in the text app? that came with the phone? or the go sms app..?.or..???.... :o thanks for the help!
 
thomas...no need to look elsewhere. GO SMS PRO works, you just need to go over the threads for this. You need to uncheck 2 options (i believe) and it works great! let me know if you need more specific help with it.
 
Thanks mate, I will use Go Sms Pro. But now the main problem is I have a HTC Sensation XE and I am looking for an app for this like fat finger keyboard. Before this I had an iphone and I was used The fat finger keyboard app. I was easily got this app from http://www.mydatabydesign.com Can you suggest me an app like this for my new HTC Sensation XE. Because I really need this app.
