4 Hours of Screen On Time?

I've had my Note 5 for 3 days now and I'm a little concerned about the battery life.

Initially I found it really good, about 20% better than my Note 4. But ever since I started syncing it with the Microsoft Exchange Server at work, I've noticed a significant drop and only getting about 4 hours SOT per cycle.

I used to get 5 hours on my Note 4 with Lollipop 5.0 using the phone exactly the same way.

Here's what I do on the phone:

- Screen brightness at about 33%
- Push syncing with MS Exchange Email / Server / Contacts
- Sync with Gmail
- Disable all the Google Play apps, and lots of Samsung apps etc.....

Or would the battery life improve with a few charge cycles?

Use a program like GSAM battery monitor and it will tall you what is using the battery. It usually does get better several days to a week.
Good Luck!

Certainly hope it improves.

Initially I was really excited to notice such a good battery life, but for some reason as soon as I started syncing with the company server, it went downhill.

I disabled the T-Mobile My Account app (requires adb or root) and now the battery puts 5-hour screen-on time with some spare.

I'm guessing the following should help w/overall battery life (w/o sacrificing any wanted functionality):
Go to Settings > LockScreen & Security > Other Security Settings > Usage Data Access & turn off access to all apps listed.
