Help 4g and swipe

Hey all I have purchased a Samsung galaxy s3 today and have two questions

Firstly the guy at jb said this phone was more expensive because it's a Telstra phone and has 4g enabled where as Harvey Norman sell only the 3g model, is there any way to tell if it's actually a 4g model?

Also I can't enable swipe in internet it works with messages but pretty much for nothing else? What do I do?

Sorry guys forgot to mention I live in Australia and apparently telstra does have a LTE 4G network just need to make sure the handset is too

Hi mate,
Samsung's in-built Swipe doesn't appear to work with anything other than the stock text app.

Go to Swype's website and install the Swype Beta version.
This in my opinion is much much better and will work with all text applications (text, internet, email etc.).

Thank you for your reply I tried installing swype beta but it just stops installing on checking installer version, is really disappointing to see Samsung has gone backwards as one of the most attractive things with the s2 was the swype and there for I thought the s3 world be similar.

How about my 4g issue, any way to determine if the handset is 4g?

I have no idea about 4g but I can assure you that Swype Beta is the best Swype keyboard there is.

I have read of other people with Swype Beta installation queries so have a google/search on these forums for the correct method to install.

PS Swype Beta will be more advanced than Swype release version for the S2 (I had this too).

hey guys managed to figure out a couple of things, apparently no 4G samsung galaxy s3 has been released in australia, i have contacted the store and they have agreed to take it back although im not sure if i will, just wanted to see if they would :P

on the other hand i managed to get swype beta to work after hours and hours i read a post that said all i did was power the phone off and after 5 minutes turn it back on and retry the installation and sure enough it WORKED!!

now i know im bieng picky but with the original lockscreen the blue with the picture of the dandelion does anyone else have a green pixelated like area ontop of the dandelion? youd have to look closely but i just want to ensure its the picture and not the actual screen? that way i can return it to the store before the 7 day return policy expires.

the screen also doesnt seem as sharp as i thought it would to be honest, i switched from a htc one x and the images just seemed sharper is that normal?

sorry to be so picky guys but i just want to make sure everything is ok with the phone as im starting to question the store i purchased it from.
