7.0 how wide spred are the battery life issues?

many power using are concerned. i see nothing here.

i am not going to update until the drama is resolved

From what I've seen, battery life issues are merely the typical types you see when people upgrade. If you really want to be safe, do a clean install. The few people I've helped have had their issues fixed merely by formatting the cache partition after the upgrade.

Battery life while the phone is idle should be much improved under Nougat, with screen usage being roughly the same. If you have an issue it appears it will likely be from an upgrade issue, which will be solved by a cache format or factory reset, or possibly a misbehaving app.

look at the linked discussion on xda. some people are having all sorts of issues. stock android, custom rom's. this is my concern

My battery use in standby (as when I'm carrying the 6P as a secondary phone) has been phenomenal; those Doze tweaks really seem to be working!

It's a different story when my 6P functions as my primary device though. It struggles to make it through a work day - granted, that's with streaming music via Google Play Music and pushing the tunes to my Bluetooth headset for ~8 hours a day, but it didn't have this much trouble on M (or even the N developer previews). I've done two factory resets and even wiped my cache again for good measure.

I've read about a lot of other folks having battery life issues with N as well, and it seems like they go beyond the usual post-update woes from what I've read.

At this point, I'm hoping that maybe the reason the factory images haven't been released for the 6P is that Google is trying to fix the battery life problems first.

any new information. i am still delaying 7.0 as marshmellow works well and i do not have the time, energy nor
know how to deal with odd ball battery issues.

i am disappointed with google, who after a long beta period, released a defective final version.

I'm inclined to agree. Typically at this time of day I'd be below 40%, possibly below 30%. Right now I'm at 48%.

I'm having battery drain issues since installing N on my non rooted 6p. This isn't helped by the fact that changes in Nougat mean than GSAM can no longer report on battery drain by application so I can't figure out what's causing the problem. And, as a final kick in the nuts, when I plug my charger in, I no longer get the "charging rapidly" message and GSAM is suggesting that to get from 40% to 100% will take 2 hours.

I wiped the cache partition but REALLY don't want to consider a factory rest due to all the effort of putting the thing back together again afterwards.

Disappointed....

Pete

ANYONE HEAR WHEN 7.10 OR 7.01 WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR 6P? I AM STILL WAITING TO UPGRADE
7.0 is out, and is stable.

7.1 won't ship before the end of the year, but it will be available as a beta starting later this month. You can sign up at Android.com/beta if you want in.

Just in case anyone is still having battery issues with the 6P on Android 7.0, Google is trying to collect data to help identify and resolve the problem(s). You can add your voice to the fray here.

I haven't been keeping metrics as far as usage and drain, but since owning the phone I have noticed significant battery drain with no change in how I actually use the phone. I am rooted but everything is stock and haven't taken any OTA updates since April this year so I am still on 6.0.1

I didn't have any battery issues before, but I did notice that the battery performance is a bit better than before.

I've been having issues since the last security update. I keep my phone on airplane mode at work. By the end of the day it is around 50%. I looked at the battery usage and it should screen awake and wifi as being the main culprits. I looked at my drop down screen and wifi was turned off the whole time.

I've had my phone since Oct. 2015 and have enjoyed it but, it's been a real pain to charge lately. My USB C keeps falling out of the port. Even just sitting on the desk charging.
