Help 736 Rogue Files showing up on SD Card Everyday

eagle670

Newbie
Every morning when I restart my S3 phone, I see these strange files that have been added to my SD card. (SEE SAMPLES BELOW).

These files are directly associated with some music that are on the card. The problem is that there are 736 of these strange files added to the SD card everyday, if I do not delete them everyday, they buildup fast.

Now one thing to note is that there is no content in these and the file sizes are zero.

I have attached a zip file of what all 736 of these files look like.

So far I have tried unmounting the card before shutting down, but it had no effect. I do have a my S3 in a charging case, so tonight I may take it out and see if that is having any cause to this.

I would appreciate any help anyone could give me.

(Sample files names that are being created - µ and µALKAW~1.MP3)

This is a brand new card, I had the same issue with the card before and the manufacturer replaced it. I ran across this post, do you think it is worth a shot?

1) Format the card on your PC or Mac, to NTFS file system.
2) Download Paragon NTFS / HFS apk app for your Android device
3) Without ANY NTFS app for the android, the android WILL NOT recognise the inserted SD card format as the android only recognises FAT file system
4) Put the Micro SD card into the device and restart the device (if the card icon shows in the notification bar, bottom right, ignore)
5) Goto and open on Android Paragon NTFS / HFS tool apk and check disk / format using the android app
6) Restart device again, with SD card inserted, leave card inserted and connect Android device to PC, the External Disk should now be available formatted to NTFS

The card should AUTO MOUNT via the Paragon NTFS app when the device is turned on

I've tried every method possible to have the SD card in the FAT 32, but it just doesn't last, folder names change, files dissapear.

I haven't had a phone with an SD card since my OG Droid, so I'm not up to speed on formatting them. Let me hunt around a bit.

get an actual sd card reader.
plug it in the usb slot and choose "FULL FORMAT" it will take longer with option fat32 with default allocation file size
Then choose scandisk from pc"
and put checks in for "automatic fix errors"
then put the card back in phone and choose to format sd card so the phone will apply the method that is necessary.
If that don't resolve the issue you may have something installed that is writing this to the card.
you can find this out but changing that temp file to be read only and see if any errors pop up
such as "Program X.apk can't read or right to location bla bla bla sd temp.????
let us know if this helps you out. ;)
