I apologize if this has been covered, but i did search the forums for an answer first. I got the 16 GB galaxy S3 knowing that:
1: it would not truly be 16 GB, rather about 12GB, and
2: my last phone was 1GB, which I had to root to fit all of my apps (move to sd), so I knew that 16/12 would be plenty.
So here is my question: If about 4 GB of the 16 GB is taken up by the system, which I fully understand, why is there another 7GB being taken up by "program data?" I still have plenty of room for apps at the moment and don't foresee a big issue in the future, unless this mysterious data gets larger and larger. Is this really the S3's program files? If so, what about the allocated 4GB? Or, can I just simply move that 7 GB to my external sd card? I don't want to blindly try it and end up messing up the system.
