A Bit Upset over 5.02

boutaswell

Got the 5.02 update a few days ago and not really amused at the changes the update made to my phone. Haven't noticed anything better and quite a few inconveniences. Since I started out with DOS 3.1, I know how M$ can screw things up but what was LG thinking by approving this? Anyhow....any way to revert back to at least the 'pre-update' desktop?

I have to agree. I was more than happy with my operating system. Move buttons around. Now I have a lot more battery drain than before. It would be nice if we had been given the option. Hopefully someone has a way to revert back..

You should be able to TOT or KDZ back to the prior version. You will want to root after that so you can freeze the update App to stop it from putting you back into 5.02

Factory reset your phone....I Had the kitkat update with Root...I lost root when there was a minor update on kitkat...and then the LOLLIPOP update completely cleaned out my phone so it was as if it was brand new with no signs of root. And the problem was battery life the moment I got the update....I read forums and the best bet to fix this issue was just to do a factory reset...and bam everything got fixed...I'm happy with my LG G2...I got updates that I thought were only available on the LG G3...i'm highly reconsidering getting a new phone such as the LG G4 now

What are these updates you speak of that you thought were only for the G3?

It forced an update to my LG G2 800. 5.0.2

Edit: And the LG PC suite software won't work with this update. After installing/running, warning comes up if you have android 5.0 or later, backup will not work due to android internal security settings.

Which update app exactly do I freeze? I haven't taken the t-mobile OTA update and I want to block the notification that I can't clear. Pressing "later" doesn't get rid of it. AFAIK, the phone hasn't actually downloaded the payload yet.

Factory reset fixed my battery issues. Used the internal LG backup program first. Then copied the contents of the LG backup folder to my computer. Did the factory reset. Then moved the copy back to the phone and did a restore. Got everything back. Thanks.

Very upset with the new android lollipop update that i was forced to install all of my icons have lost there clared and keyboard to. I was very happy with the way it was. If android doesn't fix this problem there going to lose a lot of customers !!!

I called the android support line to get help on uninstall the new android lollipop update and they said it couldn't be done and they wanted me to pay them to get help ! I told the lady that I shouldn't have to pay for help to uninstall a update that i was forced to install ! But she said it was my problem and i needed to get another phone. I told her she needed to tell her company or superior that this new update is a problem that all the icons and keyboard and weather board has lost there clarity and her reply was "No" I told her your not willing to pass along this information then your no help to me I told her goodbye and hung up.

If your happy with the way your phone is working and all the icons and keyboard looks don't install it. I was told once you install it you can't remove it. I was like you i also was pressing later so i install it big regret ! Android was asking me if i had a warranty on my phone....i told them it's not a phone problem it's their update that caused the problem but talking to them was like talking to the wall.
