A Brick and a Dud. Is something wrong with the G5?

A brick and a dud. Am I unlucky or is there something wrong with the Moto G5 in general?

My first G5 bricked before the first week was over and my second has been nothing but woe. The first problem (with the replacement) was frequent random resets. A factory reset fixed that one. Then it stopped responding altogether requiring removal of the battery. Now the battery drains within about 6 hours of negligible usage. On top of that I still get the occasional reset and shutdown without reason. Another problem is that the OS seems to get itself confused often. Sometimes it takes 30 seconds or longer to unlock the phone. The Android soft buttons take seconds to register input. Sometimes the OS get so hung up I have to leave it sitting for about 5 minutes before it finally begins to respond again and I can reboot the thing.

As far as I'm aware, I'm not using any apps I didn't already use with my original Moto G and the battery monitor doesn't show anything hogging the power so I'm stumped. Has anyone else had so many problems with the G5 line?

After finding a post in some forum somewhere (which I have embarrassingly lost) and following instructions on deleting various caches and data stores, disabling/re-enabling various apps and finally restarting the phone the problem has subsided for the time being and the phone is working as expected. Thanks to whichever user discovered that fix.
