Root A few q's about this phone

I am considering getting this phone, mostly because I need a new one. I permanently bricked my Rise yesterday when I factory reset it. (Forgot that I shouldn't have done that... tsk.) It was boot looping because I used the Pimp My Rom app on it, and (I suppose) absentmindedly checked too many options on it before rebooting.

I looked around for user experiences on this phone, and the only one that bugs me is the Maps app being a bit slow at times. I've had that issue with the Rise.

1. Has anyone that rooted the Event used Link2SD on it? I used this with the Rise, and that worked out really well for me. I formatted the 2nd partition as FAT32, 1 GB size.

2. How about the Greenify app? This is one app that allows some hibernation to take place while the phone is in sleep mode. It also works with some apps while the phone is being used. Again, worked relatively well with the Rise, and helps alleviate some of the memory issues.

3. Is it better to freeze the bloatware (via Titanium backup, for example), or can any of it be safely removed?

Anyway, I've noticed that it's currently on sale at Best Buy and amazon for $39.99. Still mulling over it... might get it from the nearest BB as I'd only have to pay sales tax extra. Then get the case + screen protector from amazon if I like it. Speaking of which... could I use my leftover screen protectors for the Rise on the Event?

Did you ever answer your own questions after you got your Event?

Looks like you already read some of my other posts, thanks! :D

I've dropped Greenify from my Event. I found that it sometimes slows down the phone more than I wanted, especially when running a streaming music app with the screen off for more than a few minutes. Careful debloating really does the trick in improving overall performance.
