A few questions about apps in general...

1) What is the best way to uninstall apps? Is it via the market or via settings > applications > manage applications?

2) How do you remove your market history search? I haven't searched for anything smutty or sordid, it's just becoming rather congested.

3) How do I remove my maps search history?

4) What does clearing the cache of an app do? Does it have a bad affect on the phone or app?

For 2) and 3), there's an app called HistoryEraser that will do what you want. It's available in the Market.

As far as I know, both uninstallation methods work equally well (and my uninformed guess is that they use exactly the same mechanism with a different front end). Going through the Download screen seems faster, but requires a data connection to get to the app list.

Thanks, mate! I looked for History Eraser the other day but could not find it. I could only find the version which wasn't suitable for users running 1.6+.

History Eraser works a treat!
