IOWA
Mr. Logic Pants
Well, many of you know about the feud that has carried on between mbell75 and myself for the last several weeks. Well after discussions with mods/admins, I agree it is time to stop these feuds. It has led to zero productivity, and I just keep debunking the same exact false facts in every other thread it seems, so now I'm electing to stop. I'm sorry it came down to this, and things couldn't be worked out more maturely.
I'd like to personally thank all of you for your support, and I'm sorry I have to give up this fight against trolls of this forum. I also do not encourage anyone to pick up my fight, either. Repeatedly I have been told "just to report" the post in question.
So us, the people of the forum, need to help them out a little bit. Perhaps I took the wrong approach, so here is a new one, and maybe it will work.
-They say report posts.
Well this just simply isn't effective enough. Why? I'm almost positive the admins/mods receive hundreds if not thousands of these a day, and simply cannot keep up. It's impossible, and not their fault. I also think multiple reports of the same thread/post are littering it up, and slowing down the process, and maybe even wearing them out as mentioned above. (Please note this is purely speculation, I don't know how things are run behind the scenes so mods/admins feel free to correct me.)
-Solution-
When you find a post offensive, report it, then quote and state that you reported this post in the thread, and you reported it to the staff. This will keep (hopefully) other people from duplicating reports, and speeding up "due process" Also, if you back a reported post, simply thank the post that is announcing they are reporting a bad post. And once the posts get erased, the thanks, and post counts should revert back to what they should be in the first place, so don't go spamming reported posts either. We need to clean up the board, not make it worse.
-Troll?
Well it seems we cannot do much about the troll situation, as there are quite a few of them on here. Perhaps leaving some suggestions in the site feedback may get them to look over the issue.
-Name calling
This has just got to stop. This includes words/phrases traditionally not known as name calling per se, but is worded so that is a hidden/condescending attack on a certain individual or group.
-.
In closing, I'm sorry this got THIS out of hand, and hopefully it will resolved soon.
Best regards to everyone involved, and also my apologies for letting this carry on to this extent.
Sincerely,
-IOWA
