a game like populous on Amiga 500

Hi all

This one shows my age :(

I have been into gaming since the 80s and I must say, looking back, the old God games were my favouite. I have kept up with modern gaming but I just dont have the interest to play them for long. Yeah, im alot older and I guess I have grown out of it, also, I dont have a lot of spare time to play games. A quick game on the android is all i really have the time for.

I would really like to play something like populous (or even settlers, sim city or theme park) again though. I could get the old amiga out of the loft but I reckon it would spoil my memories of them. I tried the demo of from dust and have the civilisation demo ready. From dust looks cool, but the building side looks limited. I dont mind if its for 360 or PC or even android. Can anyone recommend anything?

Black and White/2
Overlord
Populous for windows
Spore
Simcity Societies.

The genre is quite limited .
From dust is the only new in the current era .You have to stick to old games if you like them.
Black and White is the game near to populous .

Civ is a turn based strategy .
Quite unlike a God Game .

There are many turn based strategy and real time strategy games.
Pure God games are a rarity because it takes high persistence to play them till the very end (Some dont have a end )

I'll give civ a go I think, I have fancied it for a while. Not sure I like the idea of turn based, never played this style before.

I quite like from dust. YOu only get to battle the elements though

Civilisation not my thing. I may look at the sim city type games. Any idea what is good? Was looking at tropico 3

Well Spore is the mother of all building Games
Simcity Societies is also nice .
If you want a bit of history ,try the Anno series .

Anno 1404 was the recent game.
Anno 2070 should be nearby (waiting ...)
Never tried tropico so no comments .
Black And White should suffice your thirst for God Games too.

From Dust on Xbox live is spectacular!

I also really enjoy Tropico 3, which coincidently was just released as an On Demand game on XBL for $20.
