how do I save info
so new to pda and love my eris but some reason I was in below freezing weather and screen timed out then a bunch of lines came on phone and wont go away. V is sending me a new phone since I have only had it 2 weeks so no worries there.

My question is will have to enter all my calender info, contacts, pics and apps I installed all over again or is there away I can save all of that info. I have videos music etc also on it.

I am still learning so dumb it down for me the best you can thanks

Contacts should not be a problem. By default they are synced with GMail, so they should come back from your GMail account when you set the new phone up. I believe calendar info is synced with GCal too, and should come back when you set up the new one.

If you have music, videos, etc, they are probably on the SD card, not on the phone memory. You could swap the cards, assuming the one in the broken phone is not damaged in any way. Your apps will only come back if you selected the backup option in your phone settings. If you did, I believe it will automatically download all of the apps your had. I know it does this if you factory reset your phone, I'm not sure about swapping for a new unit.

I hope this helped a little.

can you guide your namesake through backing up my apps etc. phone workes just has lines in it so i can use it.

On my Droid you hit Menu Key > Settings > Privacy > check "Backup my Settings". It may be in a different place on your phone since the operating system version is different. I would look there first.
