A little disappointed with signal strength...

FWIW, I'm in the Balt/DC corridor, with decent LTE coverage (hit 52Mbps near RFK stadium on my LTE Note), however I wanted a device with better reception than the Note. At home, my Note is fairly consistently in the -85dBm to -97dbm range, where the Atrix is consistenly 4 to 6 dBm "lower" in the same areas in the house. Given that calls start failing to connect around the -105dBm level, having the phone report "4 out of 5" bars is a bit ambitious. Esp. when battery drain increases around the -90dBm level. The HD also seems very susceptible to signal interference (LTE radio seems to be near the top), and signal strength changes significantly when moved.

Ultimately, I'd like to use this phone on T-Mo, so until the unlock codes are available, I guess the jury is still out on it's HSPA/UMTS capability. Supposedly, the phone has T-Mo's 1700 band...don't see any frequency info on the box, only the website. But given that the HD's reception is worse than the Note's, and the Note is worse than my beloved $300 T-Mo Motorola Defy (gets better 3G reception on at&t than most current at&t phones), I don't have high hopes. Its a shame too. I really like everything else about the phone, as I prefer Motorola devices.

On the other hand wi-fi is not an issue, and is very stable. Seems to be an issue with some owners...may be the wi-fi timeout settings.

Maybe there is some hope on the HSPA side on T-Mo. My other devices get about -70dBm on at&t here, and T-Mo's signal is in the 50s:
