A rant about Metro

The reason I have Metro PCS is because of their 4G LTE. I love the service (when it's working properly) and I love my phone. However, in my opinion, Metro PCS has a lot of work to do in the customer service department. They need to learn how to treat their customers with respect.

I'm not an uptight person by any means. I understand that Metro Associates and Customer Service Representatives are humans just like we all are, but I am not going to sit back and tolerate what I saw earlier today at an Independent Metro PCS store.

We have a lot of them here in South Florida. I am always out and about driving around and running errands and I like to pay my bill at the store. I walked into a particular store today and witnessed the worse customer service I have ever seen. It wasn't just bad customer service, the associate blatantly insulted a customer calling him a "moron" because he was having trouble with a phone that was shutting on and off on its own and he did not have the insurance on his phone.

It is bad enough Metro stores don't back up their products with their "no return" policy, but to stand there and call a customer a moron unprovoked for not having insurance is flat out bullshit.

The associate behind the counter was a young Hispanic woman (looked to be in her 20's) wearing a small shirt and shorts that rode up to her ass. Now the customer was agitated at the fact that the store didn't want to do anything about their faulty device, but the associate had no right to insult her customer. Needless to say, I did pay my bill at her store, but looking back at it I should have went to another store.

I hate how these Independent stores think they can get away with anything that they want. Hopefully Metro PCS expands their company and decide to go all corporate by eliminating these scum bags that buy a small space and call it Metro PCS.

Post here if you want to rant about Metro or if you've had a bad experience at one of their stores.

So, you witness one bad customer service experience and decide that they are all scum bags. Just some questions:

How often do you visit one of these random stores and get acceptable service?
How often do you witness what appears to be successful transaction?
How often do you think you miss the associate going above and beyond for a customer?
Do you really think this doesn't happen at other carrier stores from time to time?

Don't get me wrong - what you witness shouldn't of happen but it does, and it can happen pretty much anywhere. However, one incident (and I know that yes it actually happens more often than that, but I suspect if you could have a full set of data it is pretty rare) is not a reason to condemn the whole lot. I'm not even saying MetroPCS is the cream of the crop where it comes to customer service (I tend to rate it as acceptable) .......but whenever I've walked into a store the associates have always been polite and at least attempted to be helpful.

And finally why seek out other negative stories - how does that help anything? Why not ask for some positive stories?

i make it a point to not go to a storefront for anything. i live in a not so savory area of detroit and the metroPCS stores there are on some ghetto isht. most the stores are run by some unprofessional people to say the least and you end up getting charged all sorts of extra bullisht for transactions anyway(no matter where you live or what store you go to). to hell with a metroPCS storefront.

i havent had any issues taking care of my business online. i was even able to resolve an issue with my data counter with an online rep. dont know about other people but doing things online works for me.

I think the phone customer service is worse than in store, but yeah I recently had to visit a in store location, and most of the workers had bad attitudes and diddnt look like they wanted to help, Luckily I got a worker that was friendly though.

In my town, one of the independent reps is actually magnitudes better at customer service than the local corporate store in Ft Myers. They are complete idiots there and are unbelievably rude.

I have not have one good experience ever going into a metro store. I try to never do so. When I was buying my Connect, the girl said, it's going to take me about 15 minutes to get it setup if you to have a seat. So I went to sit down, I was the only customer in the store & there were 2 workers. All of a sudden this woman came rushing in & mind you, I was sitting down & there were two employees at the counter. The lady started to say something to them & then she stopped & asked me, am I cutting in front of you? I said, no, I'm just waiting. The girl who was getting my phone ready said, well is she supposed to know that if you don't tell her when she walks in the door? I said, seriously? It's my job to be the people greeter while I'm waiting for to activate my phone? I'm so sorry, I didn't realize that was part of my contract.
